“So, what’d you do on break?”
AHHH THE DREADED QUESTION.
I don’t know about you all, but that question gives me major anxiety probs.
What if I haven’t done enough this break?! How come everyone else sounds like they had the perfect Hallmark Christmas and I’m over here feeling like the cozy lil’ break time I had was clearly not half as epic as theirs?!?
If you’ve ever been where I’m at, you know how stress-inducing those back-from-break convos can be.
So here’s what I’m learning about all this jazz.
God has given each one of us a specific race to run, and my race does not (and should not) look like the race of anyone else.
God calls us all to different things at different times.
So, instead of comparing our stories to those of our friends, let’s enjoy what God has given us and rejoice with the people around us!
Romans 8:1 proclaims that there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Why are we living in fear of our peers condemning us when the Lord of the universe removes our deserved condemnation and replaces it with graceful freedom?
We are gracefully free. *insert deep breath here*
You don’t have to have the coolest break story.
You just have to be giving each day to Jesus and allowing him to lay out the race for you to run.
It’s gonna be great, because he’ll run it with you.
So let’s lace up our shoes and nail this coming semester!
